The Institute for AI and Democratic Governance

Full Site Coming Soon.

Democracy is a practice.

We are a new project launched by Kevin Lee, an experienced academic and thought leader, in partnership with dozens of others who are concerned about the impact of agentic AI on our democracy and common life.

Definition: Civic personalism is a philosophical approach to citizenship and political life that places the inherent dignity and relational nature of the human person at the center of community and governance. It acts as a “middle way” between the extremes of radical individualism (which isolates the self) and authoritarian collectivism (which absorbs the individual into the group).
